Let The Decorating Begin!

Yesterday I went into Amy Coe- man do they have some cute things...but of course they are super expensive. I did find one thing I might have to splurge on...a pig clock for $45. They also had some great prints in some neat frames for $180 (for the pair at least)...I asked the chic working there if I could take pics of these items so I could show my husband. Really I just wanted to take the pics to share on the blog & to have a copy of the prints as a reference so I can look elsewhere for a cheaper version. I found these prints at Etsy that are kind similiar that I can buy & frame myself with some cheaper Target or Ikea frames.

The nostrils on the pig goes back & forth with the ticking of the clock.

Here are a couple of the prints I found so far that I could use:

Is This Bad?

I've been craving these damn chips for at least a week now...and thus far have been good at not caving in & buying them. I was weak today. I caved. I bought a bag. And practically ate the whole thing for lunch. Is that bad?
I can hear my butt getting bigger as I type this.

It's totally Marnie's fault.

Karate Chop!

Last night was the first night John really felt Marnie kick. She was going to town with karate chops. I'm in trouble if this chic is only like 8 inches long now & already wreaking havic on my uterus!

Telling The Family

After we opened the "baby box" and found out that we were having a girl we wanted to tell the family in a fun way. So I wrote down "It's a Girl!!" on a piece of paper & on other pieces I wrote "Sorry, you lose" and stuck them in individual envelopes for each family member to open. I had everyone pick an envelope randomly & open them at the same time & that one special person got to announce what we were having!

Maddie was the lucky person on the Otterbein side!

And here is a video of the Guadagno side opening up their envelopes!
Mom N was the lucky winner!

Christmas Morning

As you all by now....John & I are having a little baby girl!!!! Here are pics from Christmas morning when we opened the "baby box" to find out the gender. Can I tell you HOW NERVOUS I was!!!!! Everyone had me thinking I was having a boy...I'd even been waking up in the middle of the nights thinking about having a little boy & what the hell was I going to do with all those girls clothes I've been buying over the years. Well, I guess no need for me to worry anymore (unless Vickie the U/S tech is wrong about the sex....oh my god, could you just imagine??!!!).

Me...before opening the box

John hoping for his little golf buddy

So John pulled out the paper from the back of the frame & this is what we saw........

Obviously I just found out it's a girl!!

Photo Ideas

For my birthday/Christmas John bought me an amazing new digital camera so I could have it for when Baby Guadagno arrives. I've already started looking for newborn picture ideas & came upon this pic. Doesn't it just make you smile??? Look at those pudgey cheeks & fat wrinkle between his eyes & that crazy ass hat. Do we say "yay" or "nay" to this pic?

BTW.....one week people! ONE WEEK until YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!

EW

So my 35 week pregnant friend Amy sent me this pic to show me where her baby should be right now in her belly. Does anyone else find this thing gross? Apparently it's what they show you in childbirth class to get you familiar with what is happening in your body. My philosophy: ignorance is bliss.

You Want In?

This past Saturday at my families holiday party my cousin Phil suggested we do a pool on the sex of the baby & wager some money on it. So I had Kaelyn start a "guess the babies gender" 50/50 pool where each person puts a $5.00 wager on whether they think I'm having a boy or a GIRL and the winner recieves 50% of the profits & 50% goes to the babies saving account. Pot is up to $80- anyone else who wants to participate can give/mail me $5 with what you think the gender is going to be, the date of birth (remember I am due May 1st) and the time (include am or pm). All entries must be in by December 24th- I'll post everyone's guesses on the blog & announce the winner come the babies birthday!

20 Week Ultrasound

Thursday was our big 20 week ultrasound where they check for all fingers & toes, make sure the heart chambers, kidneys, brain, etc are formed & working properly. All was well! We told the tech that we didn't want to find out the gender right away & asked if she would write it down for us. We mentioned that we wanted to wrap it up & put it under the Christmas tree to open Christmas morning. She loved the idea & got all into it! She printed out an extra copy of one of the U/S pics & wrote on the back of it the gender. Then she even stuck it in a frame for us! How thoughtful is that? So we went right home & wrapped it up & it is now sitting under our tree.

Here is the best pic that she was able to get of the baby- my camera turns the pic sideways but you can still get the jist. And no, that is not a big p*nis towards the top of the pic...it is a LEG!
Look at how cute that little tiny hand is!!!!

This is Vickie holding the framed pic with the results.

All wrapped up
Video of the ultrasound- check out the details of the spine and I think SHE is sucking her thumb- it looks like her little lips move when her hand gets close to her mouth....

Is This A Sign????????

I'm at work- just answered the phone & some lady on the other line introduces herself as "Marnie"......HELLLOOOOOOO! That is the name that we are going to name our baby if it's a girl!!! Just this morning I was thinking about how I've never really heard the name before & how it is kind of unique....and then a Marnie calls. Today is the day we are technically finding out if we are having a GIRL or a boy......

IS THIS A SIGN OR WHAT?????????

Belly Art

So last week I was getting dressed for work & looked down at my belly...it had the neatest design on it from the blinds on the window.

Here is my belly art!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh My Goodness..Could It Be A GIRL????

This weekend while in VT with the Yearwood/Schloicka clan we decided to do the wedding band on a string test to predict what the sex of the baby will be. According to myth- if you put your wedding band on a string & then have someone hold it over your baby bump (or wrist) it will predict the sex of your baby & how many children you will have. If the string moves in a circle, its a boy. If it sways back & forth, its a girl. We did it several times & it said I was having a girl- we even did it on John's wrist & it came out as a girl. Also, according to the test we are going to have two children, a boy being our second child. Perfect!
We practiced on Robyn & Brian too and both came out with the correct children that they had in order- girl girl for Robyn...boy girl for Brian. So ours have to be right....right??

Watch both videos below to see the results!

Back To The Belly Button

As I've mentioned in an earlier post I've been having belly button issues. Apparently my husband thinks I am overreacting & am just making it seem worse than it really is. Ummmm, NO. When my belly button is touched it shoots an extremely uncomfortable, yucky feeling from the belly button to the inside of my core & out to my fingers & toes. I am talking major heebie jeebies. And guess what? After doing some research on the internet I am not the only one this has happened to.
Read this exerpt:
I am 38 wks w/ my 2nd. I had some soreness w/ the 1st one, too, but nothing like this time around. From about 2 inches above to at least 2 inches below my belly button, the skin is so painfully sore and sensitive. Just having clothes rub against it is painful, and it's horrible if I cough, sneeze, or bend over. I am carrying this kid straight out in front so I think it's just due to the skin being so stretched in that area. I'm even getting stretch marks around my belly button that have just popped up in the last 2 weeks. Never had them until now!
And this exerpt too:
I started having extreme belly button soreness at 18 weeks. My doctor dismissed too. However, my sister a labor and delivery nurse pointed out that since i had my belly button pierced previously that i had scare tissue. The scare tissue was what was causing the extra pain.

I too once had my belly button pierced so maybe that is it? But the most sensitive part of my belly button is on the left side, where I can feel it pertrudes a little....my piercing was above the belly button..? I don't know. This led me to another website that talked about umbilical hernia...here is what it said:
Causes of umbilical hernia during pregnancyMost umbilical hernias are congenital, meaning you have had the hernia since birth. The hernia may have been small or not caused any noticeable symptoms. Pregnancy or excessive weight gain can put stress on the defective or weak area of the abdominal wall causing the hernia to become more noticeable. Many adults have umbilical hernias that go unnoticed because the defect is so small that tissue can not pass through it. Once the hole gets large enough that tissue can pass through, the hernia can become painful and you may see bulging around the umbilical area.

Now, let me tell you...IF my belly button ends up looking like the one below (which is an umbilical hernia) someone is gonna have to admit me to a mental hospital, that is for sure.

Ew, ew and more ew.

The Beginning

As most of you know John & I finally became pregnant through a round of IVF (after we had done 3 rounds of IUI). Yes, I brought the camera for this procedure....ahhahaha. So here we are on August 11th at the fertility clinic. I was told to go into the changing room & then come into a different room in which the transfer would take place. A transfer is where the doctors actually take 2 embryo's that they had matured in a dish for 3 days & transfer them into my uterus. Fun fun! Well when I walked into the room the "doctor" was bent over the ultrasound machine & he said good morning & asked how I was doing...I said 'fine, how are you doing?"....and then the "doctor" started laughing....Yes, it was my husband bending over pretending to be the doctor and I totally fell for it. The nurse in the room thought it was hysterical...and I must admit, I laughed for a long time....who does that?????

"Doctor" Johnny

Uh huh

This is me warning John to behave himself once the doctor came in. No joking around or stupid comments..."just sit there, be good & don't say anything".

This is a pic of the two embryo's that were transfered!!!!
Just think, one of those little suckers is now a growing baby in my belly!

Being Pregnant......

together is so much more fun than going at it alone!

Prunes........

are disgusting. Period. They're supposed to be great for pregnant ladies...so I thought I'd give them a whirl. Ew. Ew. Ew. I've decided to eat ONE a day...that is about all I can muster up and I figure one is better than none. Right?

Christmas Morning

John & I have decided that when we go on December 10th for our 20 week ultrasound we are going to have the doctor write down on a piece of paper the sex of the baby and seal it in an envelope. On Christmas morning we will open it up by the Christmas tree and have the best gift of all! Now, who thinks I can wait another 2 weeks after the 10th?

17 Weeks Preggers

Can you believe this sh*t?!!!! Another 23 weeks to go??? Tell me, has anyone ever popped from getting too big? I guess I'm still good..if Kate Gosselin made it, so can I.

A Little Fact.....

Around the 16th week this little bugger should be about five and a half inches tall and only six ounces in weight. The baby can grasp with HER hands, kick, or even somersault. Can you believe that? They say I should be able to feel HER fluttering around like a little butteryfly....we'll see.....

Etsy Mobiles

I've been looking on Etsy for a homemade baby mobile, something different than the normal run of the mill baby mobile you might find from Babies R Us, etc. What do you think of these? I think the bird one would be cute if they could customize some of them with matching material that I might use to recover the glider & ottoman. Etsy is a website for people to buy & sell homemade items, so I don't think it would be too hard to contact the seller & ask them to make a mobile to my liking.
